The EU Ai Act. - Expert AI

There is floating around the internet a work in progress Ai Act. I am providing it here for the sake of free data. If changes will intervene i will come back to you. This version is up to date as of 21st of January 2024.

The European Parliament and the Council reached a provisional agreement on the AI Act on Friday, December 9, 2023.
The agreement establishes obligations for providers and users of AI systems based on their potential risks and level of impact on society and the environment.
The agreement also prohibits certain AI practices that are considered unacceptable, such as biometric categorisation, social scoring, emotion recognition, and AI that manipulates or exploits human vulnerabilities.
The agreement allows for some exceptions for the use of biometric identification systems by law enforcement for specific purposes and under strict conditions, subject to prior judicial authorisation.
The agreement also introduces fines ranging from 35 million euro or 7% of global turnover to 7.5 million or 1.5% of turnover for non-compliance with the rules.
